A Call to Revival and Awakening - An Invitation to My Colleagues in Ministry
To My Colleagues in Ministry:
Greetings! And thank you for your faithful laboring in the Lord's Vineyard.
I invite you to join me in calling your church to revival and awakening this coming Sunday, August 12 (or soon thereafter).
I like Michael Brown's definition of "revival."
This is what God is calling me to do. I believe God wants me to extend the invitation to you. Will you seek him about this?
If you've followed my blog, you know that one thing I do is pray, a lot. Four weeks ago, during an extended time of praying, I discerned God saying this: "John, call the Church in America to Revival." My immediate response was, "Right!" Perhaps Sarah felt this way when she laughed at the thought of having a child.
I am calling us to revival and awakening.
In my church family God is interrupting us. God has told me he is speaking to some of you about this, too.
This coming Sunday morning, August 12, I'll be preaching out of that famous text, 2 Chronicles 7:14. Will you pray about doing the same?
This will be a third "revival and awakening" message I've given in the past month. The first one is here.
Something is happening. God is about to do something bigger than us all. The burning questions in me, which I shared with my people this morning, are "Why not now?" "Why not us?"
Why not you? Why not your church family as an epicenter of revival and awakening?
If this speaks to you will you send me an email, or call? We will share together, and pray together.
If God leads you to send this to another colleague in ministry, please feel free to do so.
If you are not a pastoral leader, please pray about passing this to yours.
In all this, shall we agree to pray this way. fervently: "God, revive and awaken our churches, and the Church in America!"
