The Fellowship of Shared Hatred

The River Raisin
John Gray writes: "The collective solidarity of Nazi Germany was sustained by the incessant creation of internal enemies." (Gray, The Silence of Animals: On Progress and Other Modern Myths, p. 56)

To experience koinonia where what is commonly embraced (koine) is animosity toward other people is weakness and evil. It's antichrist fellowship, a fellowship of hatred. In a church or family or marriage or ethnic group where shared hatred is the bond, the devil rules in the absence of God.

(I can't put Gray's book down - I'm reading it into the night...)
