The Eagle Tree

We now have so many bald eagles in Monroe that seeing them is more common than seeing cardinals or blue jays.

A friend told me this morning where some eagles were building a nest. She had seen as many as 15 there at a time. I went there early this morning and 8 eagles were sitting in this "eagle tree." I turned the car off, put a 55-200mm Nikon lens on my D-40, and shot away. The lighting wasn't great, but the milieu was.

Quiet. Still. No wind. Eagles in a tree. Making eagle sounds.

While writing this (I am not kidding) a bald eagle soared past the upstairs window. I like this.
