Jesus' "As Usual" Prayer Life (Prayer Summer)

(Green Lake Christian Conference Center, Wisconsin)

My hope is that praying, for you, will become an "as usual" thing, a "customary" thing. Like it was for Jesus.

Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives,
and his disciples followed him.
On reaching the place, he said to them,
“Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them,
knelt down and prayed...

Luke 22:39-41

"As usual" means "habitual." Often. A lot.

Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Luke 15:16

Jesus was a habitual pray-er.
  1. Jesus found apart-places where he engaged in solitary praying.
  2. Jesus prayed to find out what the Father wanted him to do.
Jesus was a habitual pray-er.

Jesus went to lonely places, places of least distraction, to pray.

His followers will do the same.
