Reading About the Real, Historical Jesus

I was just asked: what books would be good to read on the historical Jesus? I suggest:

• The Historical Jesus of the Gospels, by Craig Keener
• Jesus and the Victory of God, by N.T. Wright
• The Case for the Real Jesus, by Lee Strobel (I think this book is excellent, even if written in a more popular way.)

Begin with these three books. They will take you deep into current historical Jesus research. They will suggest many resources to check out.
